ABOUT FUROSHIKI MASTERS
Yumi is the current owner of KITEYA SOHO, an eclectic Japanese boutique offering delightful wares from five Kyoto-based artisans. As a better-half of mother-daughter duo (Keiko and Yumi Iida), Yumi has made Kiteya as the brainchild of their bazaarlike concept and mission to bring brilliantly colored, traditional Japanese goods stateside. Kitaya has held Furoshiki workshop a couple of times in the past. And for 2013, they plan to start the culture classes including Japanese conversation lesson and hopefully Furoshiki wrapping workshop.
Shiho is a designer and craft guru, currently based in Hawaii. Having trained and worked in NYC for more than a decade, she is known for incorporating traditional Japanese sensibilities into modern urban designs. She has worked extensively on projects such as wedding and party designs, window displays and in-store visual merchandising, as well as creating custom gift wrapped packages for both individual and corporate clients. Shiho follows her passion for connecting people through her creations and making her concepts available through traditional and digital media.
