Reiko Sudo, one of the founders of the Nuno Corporation and known worldwide for her unique applications of Japanese textiles, has a beautiful and quite fishy exhibit on display at the Kennedy Center. It’s one of the highlights of this month’s JAPAN! culture + hyperculture event in Washington D.C. More after the jump.
From the Kennedy Center’s website:
Sudo’s innovative exhibition for the festival will illuminate textile design in the form of a giant fish. Her inspiration comes from the Japanese national holiday Kodomo No Hi (”Children’s Day”), during which families fly beautiful carp-shaped windsocks called koinobori outside their homes, as a wish of good fortune.
