Sunday, September 27th was AKB48′s US debut Concert at Webster Hall NYC. The venue was packed with eager AKB48 fans trying to get a taste of the group’s unique take on music performance. With AKB48′s concept of “Idols you can meet everyday”, fans were definitely given a taste of what goes on in Tokyo. The show consisted of the group running through their catalog performed by the selected 16 members who tried to communicate the best they can with their “kawaii” English. AKB48 also included some English songs as a gift to the New York audience. The crowd also contributed to the show by showing enormous support for the first timers. This lead to the group coming back on stage twice from the undeniable encores! I can’t remember the last time that happened at a Hip Hop show. Keep up to date with AKB48′s schedule at their site.
