Phaidon, a publisher that has released some of the greatest books covering art, design, photography, architecture, etc. has opened a pop up shop in SoHo, NYC. The store will be open for three months with an opening on November 2nd. The pop up shop will offer some collector’s editions such as Nobuyoshi Araki, Nan Goldin, Martin Parr and Luc Tuymans. The shop location is 100 Wooster Street.

Japan’s exclusive The North Face line, the Purple Label has released it’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection. As always the brand follows high quality and top quality design choices. The vintage outdoors style has always been a style choice in Japan but catching on as a trend globally. The gear is unfortunately only available as a Japan exclusive at the moment. Have you ever had a bento box for lunch before? If you have then you know of the unintentional design or aesthetic of how Japanese lunch looks like. Most Japanese people pack lunch for school or work and the bento box is the perfect method of putting together a well rounded meal. Some may take a more creative approach in piecing together a bento. Face Food Recipes is a book that demonstrates how a bento can be put together with cartoon characters. This style of bento is known as “charaben”.
Stussy and Hello Kitty collaborated on a capsule collection. The collection consists of Hello Kitty and Stussy graphics and typeface fused and applied on tees, hoodies and accessories. The collection drops on November 7th.
