As we informed you, a 29-film festival celebrating the centennial of director Akira Kurosawa is going on at Film Forum. The turn out has been great for the Kurosawa Festival! With the festival coming close to an end, the final film to close this great series will be RAN. RAN is a masterpiece which has received 4 Oscar nominations, including Best Director, Cinematography, and Art Direction, with Emi Wada winning for her dazzling, three-years-in-the-making costumes. The film was a decade-long dream of Kurosawa and is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “King Lear”. The drama is an epic tragedy of carnage and betrayal with intense battle scenes which are ironically beautiful. RAN will be playing from Friday, February 5th through Thursday, February 18th. We are happy to give away 5 tickets for RAN! Please fill out the form after the jump for your chance to win a ticket for this film. More information on the film here.
