GUCCI has set its 90th anniversary celebrations in Kyoto of Japan, displaying some of its most prized archive pieces at famed Kinkakuji temple (Golden Pavilion). The exhibition titled “Gucci – 90 years’ archive” will be held at Hojo, main hall of Kinkakuji, from June 25 to July 13. This 90 year anniversary celebration aims to ‘connect its birthplace, Florence, with its sister city Kyoto through a common tradition of artisanal craftsmanship, a cultural treasure shared by both Italy and Japan.’ The exhibit is sponsored by GUCCI, supported by City of Kyoto and City of Florence, and curated by Hiroshi Senju, Japanese painter and Kyoto University of Art and Design president.
