About wakamaru USA project

Since the start of our activities in  2001, New York – Tokyo  (NYT) has dedicated itself to introducing robots from Japan, as new companions to humans, for the urban lifestyle in the very near future (event archive from Tokyo Robotics 2003).

Given the opportunity by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan, NYT has acquired two humanoid robots named “wakamaru” as their official caretaker In the US .  This is the first time wakamaru has stayed permanently in the US. NYT would like wakamaru to live and work together with US general audience, who are open and willing to accept the newcomer.
