To those that came through to our launch event for NEW YORK – TOKYO SPORTS 1: SNOWBOARDING, we thank you for joining our new exciting project. New York has been in a snowboard vibe from all what’s been going around town. We were fortunate enough to join the rare snowboard spirit in NYC. DJ Reason (IRT/Nature Sounds) introduced the crowd to the music direction that NYTS will be taking. Make sure to check DJ Reason and the IRT crew out. Attendees were excited to see display products from the upcoming 2010 season. Flux Bindings proved their position in the binding market with innovative tech and design direction. Flux have been on a roll with the recent signing of JP Solberg and Romain DeMarchi. The feedback was great on the outerwear provided by A-Seven. A-Seven was able to increase their fan base in NYC that night. There were people forming circles around the plasmas which had Shaun White Snowboarding for play. With the massive flow of Red Bull, Sapporo and sake in the house, people were definitely enjoying themselves. On the film premiere side of things, people were able to witness how the Japanese scene conduct their riding on film. Heart Films Volume 3 and The Catcher on the Line (Seven Samurai Entertainment) gave different perspectives from two different films crews from Japan. Check out photos from the event !

We at NEW YORK – TOKYO are excited to introduce a new series of events surrounding the sports cultures of New York (USA) and Tokyo (Japan). Please take a look on what NEW YORK – TOKYO SPORTS is about! Through the NEW YORK – TOKYO SPORTS (NYTS) series we will introduce and showcase Japanese sports films, brands, and other creative work put out by the selected sports cultures. NYT will be kicking off our new event series on Friday, February 6th with a snowboard event. We will be screening Japanese snowboard films produced by the biggest names in the Japanese snowboard scene such as Tadashi Fuse (Burton/Red Bull JP), Kazu Kokubo (Burton), and Takaharu Nakai (Burton/Analog). The film titles offered are HEART FILMS VOLUME 3 and THE CATCHER ON THE LINE by SEVEN SAMURAI ENTERTAINMENT. We’re also showcasing quality snow brands like FLUX BINDINGS and fashion points from A-SEVEN. In addition you can enjoy some game play of SHAUN WHITE SNOWBOARDING while you sip on some Sapporo beer. Good music will be provided by DJ Reason (IRT/Nature Sounds). The launch event follows the Red Bull Snowscrapers event on Thursday, the most significant snowboard event ever held in New York City. This event will top off the “snowboard week in NYC”
